The President of the International Ski Federation (FIS), Johan Eliasch, visited Bakuriani and attended Freestyle, Snowboard, and Freeski World Championships. The federation president inspected the specially built infrastructure for the championship and gave a positive assessment of the preparations for the World Championship. He commended the work done by the organizing committee and noted that Georgia has great potential a FIS events destination.
