As part of the transformative "New Life of Bakuriani" project, three state-of-the-art ski lifts were constructed to prepare for the 2023 Freestyle Ski, Snowboard, and Freeski World Championships. The project, spearheaded by M.T.A., marked a significant milestone in enhancing Bakuriani’s winter sports infrastructure.
The ski lifts, developed by the renowned Austrian-Swiss company Doppelmayr-Garaventa Group, are the most advanced in the region, showcasing cutting-edge technology and exceptional efficiency. Together, they boast a total capacity of 5,400 passengers per hour, with the ability to increase to 7,200 passengers per hour, ensuring smooth and seamless access to Bakuriani’s slopes.
These lifts are designed to provide not only world-class performance during international competitions, but also a superior experience for everyday skiers and snowboarders. By significantly reducing wait times and increasing accessibility, they have set a new standard for winter tourism in the area.
The successful completion of this project is a testament to Bakuriani's commitment to establishing itself as a premier destination for winter sports and international events. With these upgrades, Bakuriani is ready to welcome both seasoned athletes and leisure visitors to its modernized and well-equipped ski areas.
